Dubrovnik

Semana Santa finally arrived, and we took our long-awaited trip to Croatia!

We have wanted to visit Croatia ever since we started living in Europe, but have been recommended so many different cities, so we knew we needed an extended amount of time to travel through the country. Our good friend Holly (a fellow Iowan!) joined us on our trip, and we started out the week in the charming city of Dubrovnik. We quickly learned that this city is high on the list of tourist destinations, and it did not take us long to understand why. Immediately we saw it's picturesque alleyways and incredible rocky coast with bright blue waves consistently coming in. Dubrovnik is known for being hot and crowded in the peak tourist months, but thankfully, we were much ahead of the rush. We enjoyed a calm few days in the city, walking the Medieval city walls, sipping morning coffee on narrow side street, viewing the city from the fortress ruins, and tasting local wine.

  1. Loved this ancient walled city along the Adriatic, too
